Cobre Panamá has 3 billion tons of proven and probable reserves; this mine constitutes one of the largest new copper mines opened worldwide in the last decade. The mine is located in Colón Province, 120 km west of Panama City. The production complex includes two open pits, a processing plant, two 150 MW power plants, and a port.
