The McIlvenna Bay project, operated by Foran Mining, is located in east-central Saskatchewan, Canada, within the prolific Flin Flon–Snow Lake Greenstone Belt. It is a high-grade volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) deposit, primarily containing copper and zinc, with additional gold and silver. The project is fully permitted for construction and is considered Canada’s first carbon-neutral copper development. Foran plans to develop it as an underground mine with integrated on-site processing facilities, targeting initial production in the second half of the 2020s. The project is central to Foran’s vision of building a sustainable, critical-minerals-focused mining district.
